Morocco dominates Egypt to clinch Bronze in 2024 Olympic Football tournament

In a decisive showdown at the 2024 Olympics, Morocco and Egypt faced off on Thursday for the bronze medal in men’s football.

The Atlas Lions delivered a commanding performance, overpowering the Pharaohs with a resounding 6-0 victory at the Stade de la Beaujoire.

The all-African clash, anticipated by many, did not disappoint as both teams sought redemption following their semifinal exits.

However, it was Morocco who seized control early and never looked back. Abdessamad Ezzalzouli set the tone with a stunning curled shot in the 23rd minute to give Morocco the lead.

Just three minutes later, Soufiane Rahimi doubled the advantage, putting the Atlas Lions firmly in control.

As the teams returned from halftime, Morocco continued their relentless assault. Bilal El Khannouss added a third goal in the 51st minute, followed by Rahimi’s second of the match in the 64th minute.

The rout was completed with goals from Akram Nakach in the 73rd minute and Achraf Hakimi in the 87th, sealing an emphatic win.

Egypt, unable to respond to Morocco’s dominance, succumbed to the crushing defeat.

The final whistle confirmed Morocco’s 6-0 triumph, earning them the bronze medal and capping off a memorable Olympic campaign.

For Morocco, this victory not only secures a place on the podium but also highlights their growing prowess on the international stage.

The Atlas Lions return home with a well-deserved bronze, reflecting a tournament run marked by resilience and exceptional skill.
