Burkina Faso/Industrialisation: President Ibrahim Traoré welcomes the gradual realisation of his aspirations

The vision of President Ibrahim TRAORE and his team is to transform Burkina Faso into an industrialized nation where locally sourced raw materials are processed within the country.

This ambition is being pursued not only through state-led initiatives, such as ongoing factory construction projects, but also by encouraging private sector investments.

On Thursday, August 8th, the President of Faso personally attended the ceremony marking the launch of the expansion work at the Ciments de l’Afrique (CIMAF) cement production plant.

His presence underscored his commitment to advancing the industrialization agenda of Burkina Faso.

During the event, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of a calcined clay production unit and a solar power plant.

President Ibrahim TRAORE highlighted this project as a prime example of the transition government’s industrialization strategy.

According to him, the calcined clay production unit will enable the extraction and local processing of Burkina Faso’s raw materials, primarily to meet domestic needs, while also creating job opportunities for the Burkinabe people.

The project promoters have estimated that over 315 direct and indirect jobs will be generated.

President TRAORE expressed his gratitude to them for their initiative, which aligns perfectly with the transition’s vision.

He also took the opportunity to urge Burkinabe business operators and to encourage foreign investors to explore the country’s vast potential in this sector, confident in the capabilities of the land of honest people.
