Premier League / Liverpool : Already a replacement for Jurgen Klopp ?
Liverpool will need to fork out 20 million euros to meet the release clause of Ruben Amorim at Sporting CP this summer. With Jurgen Klopp’s departure from Liverpool this summer, the Reds have been linked with the recruitment of the Sporting manager, and this interest has intensified since Xabi Alonso, one of the main targets, committed to joining Bayer Leverkusen.
Today, Footmercato claims that the Reds are already in talks to recruit the 39-year-old, who has a release clause of £17 million applicable to foreign clubs.
Liverpool is desperately trying to find the right successor to Klopp after an extremely successful period at Anfield, which has seen them win seven trophies to date. Finding an adequate replacement could prove essential to maintaining success and retaining the best players.
The Reds have contacted Amorim’s agent, who also represents Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, and the manager is said to be interested in a move to Merseyside but wants to focus on Sporting’s success this season.
As rumors continue to swirl around Amorim and who will replace Klopp at Liverpool, Sporting welcomes Benfica in a top-of-the-table clash on Saturday night, hoping to open up a four-point gap over their rivals in the Portuguese Liga.
