Togo : Towards citizen-centered governance, President Faure Gnassingbé guides priorities at government seminar

President Faure Gnassingbé emphasized to the members of the Togolese government the crucial importance of linking public policies to the reality experienced by the population, stressing that this connection should remain the main indicator of governance focused on the well-being of citizens.

These remarks were made at the conclusion of the first government seminar, which was held for two days in Aného and focused on evaluating the achievements of the 2020-2025 roadmap.

During the deliberations of this first government seminar of the year 2024, particular attention was paid to priority sectors such as agriculture, access to water, universal healthcare, and education, as well as to new state intervention models in the agricultural field.

This initiative launched by the head of state in 2023 aims to transform the approach to agricultural sector development in order to reduce hardship, promote mechanization and irrigation, increase productivity, and improve farmers’ incomes.

The Togolese President pays particular attention to the challenges encountered in the implementation and sustainability of infrastructure projects. He has thus provided guidance aimed primarily at providing sustainable responses to the population’s infrastructure needs.
