Stars of Football unite for charity Match in Paris: Macron joins legends on field

The Variétés Club de France organized a charity match on Wednesday in Plaisir, Paris, in support of Operation Pièces Jaunes. This annual initiative aims to raise funds to improve the hospitalization conditions for children and adolescents. The event featured iconic football figures such as Didier Drogba, Eden Hazard, Wilfried Mbappé, Arsène Wenger, and El Hadji Diouf, the former player for RC Lens and Liverpool. A highlight of the match was the exceptional participation of French President Emmanuel Macron, who joined these football legends on the field.

An exciting moment occurred during a duel between Macron and El Hadji Diouf, where Diouf showcased his dribbling skills against the president, demonstrating that his football talents remain sharp.

This interaction, filled with entertainment and camaraderie, was well-received by the audience.

Notable personalities like MMA fighter Cyril Gane and former German goalkeeper Jens Lehmann also took part in the match.

While Macron is no stranger to the football scene, having participated in charity matches before and even scoring from the penalty spot against healthcare workers in a previous game, this event marked a significant social occasion.

Following the match, all participants were invited to the presidential Elysee Palace, underscoring the event’s social importance as Paris gears up for the Olympics from July 26 to August 11.

The charity match reflects Macron’s ongoing commitment to sports as a platform for promoting charitable causes and fostering national unity, particularly as France prepares to host the prestigious international event.
