Mali: The Malian Armed Forces neutralize terrorist vehicles in Tin-Essako as part of their mission to secure the territory

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) have announced that they have neutralised two vehicles loaded with war materiel belonging to the Armed Terrorist Groups (GAT) in Tin-Essako, in the Kidal region, as part of their mission to secure the territory. These operations are part of a wider strategic movement in the north of the country, which culminated in the total recapture of the town of Kidal by the FAMa on 14 November.

The Directorate of Information and Public Relations of the Armed Forces (Dirpa) shared this information through an alert note on its digital platforms, specifying that the surgical strike took place 1km south-west of Tin-Essako.

The senior military hierarchy was keen to reassure public opinion, stating that the Malian Armed Forces are determined to secure the whole of Malian territory and protect people and their property.

It was recalled that the FAMa had discovered a mass grave in Kidal the previous week during their combing operations, and investigations will be launched to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Since 9 November, the regular forces have undertaken strategic movements in the Kidal region with the aim of reinforcing security and eradicating terrorist threats.

The interventions of the Defence and Security Forces are carried out with strict respect for human rights, and the main mission of the FAMa remains the restoration of peace and stability in Mali, enabling the population to live in complete security.
