Burkina Faso: Ministry of security sets its sights on vigilance and performance for the month of June
The Ministry of Security marked the beginning of June with the traditional national flag-raising ceremony, held this Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Pyramide Building. The ceremony was chaired by Commander Ahmed Ouédraogo, representing the Minister of Security, in the presence of departmental officials and staff.
The gathering was an opportunity to review activities carried out during the month of May and to present priorities for the weeks ahead.
On behalf of the Minister, the Secretary General extended his congratulations to all departmental actors for the results achieved thanks to their commitment and professionalism.
Among the main accomplishments of the past month was the graduation of the 67th promotion of the 2024 special contingent from the National School of Water and Forests (ENEF), an important event for strengthening the country’s operational capabilities.
The department also conducted several encouragement tours for the forces engaged in Operation Wibga II.
These missions were carried out in various regions by the Directors General of the National Police and Water and Forests, as well as by the Chief of Staff of the National Gendarmerie.
The Secretary General also praised the good organization of the National Police competitive examinations, the holding of the sectoral assembly of State Public Establishments (EPE), and the success of the 21st ordinary general assembly of the National Committee Against Drugs (CNLD).
He also reviewed the visits made by the Minister of Security to the Nazinga Ranch, the Bangr-Wéogo Urban Park, and the Kua classified forest. These various actions, he emphasized, demonstrate the constant commitment of the security forces and technical services to respond effectively to current challenges.
Addressing the prospects for the month of June, Commander Ahmed Ouédraogo announced several major deadlines, including the celebration of National Tree Day and the preparation of semi-annual reports by the Directorate General of Studies and Sectoral Statistics (DGESS).
In conclusion, he invited all Defense and Security Forces to maintain a high level of vigilance and professionalism, particularly in the context of securing the exams and competitive tests scheduled across the entire national territory.
