Burkina Faso: The Defence and Security Forces, guardians of peace under the command of President Ibrahim Traoré

The Defense and Security Forces of Burkina Faso remain a true guarantee of peace and stability for the nation, ready at any moment to defend the integrity of the country under the command of the President of Faso, His Excellence Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

On April 23, 2026, during a meeting with the military leadership of the Guiriko region, the mobilization of the security forces was highlighted, with a particular focus on securing the National Week of Culture (SNC), a major event for the nation.

Lieutenant-Colonel Lassané Porgo, Commander of the 2nd Military Region, took the opportunity of this audience to inform President Ibrahim Traoré of the measures put in place to ensure the security of the SNC, scheduled from April 25 to May 2.

A strategic operation has been developed, demonstrating the unwavering commitment of the armed forces in carrying out their sacred mission of protecting citizens and preserving social peace.

This meeting was also an opportunity for the military leadership to reaffirm its loyalty to the President of Faso.

The Commander of the 2nd Military Region emphasized the unshakable attachment of his troops to Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s leadership and to his national defense program.

The Defense and Security Forces remain determined to implement the directives of the supreme commander of the armed forces, in order to ensure peace and security throughout Burkinabe territory.

The commitment of the Defense and Security Forces is not limited to security missions for events. It is a round-the-clock commitment, to protect human lives, support the institutions of the Republic, and offer a peaceful future to generations to come.
