Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré embodies a model of concrete action for women’s empowerment
The President of Faso, His Excellency Captain Ibrahim Traoré, embodies a fundamental shift in the way International Women’s Day is commemorated. Moving away from traditional festivities marked by meals and speeches, he has implemented concrete and sustainable actions to improve the condition of women, particularly in rural areas.
A emblematic example of this commitment is the development of a market gardening area for the benefit of the Relwende Teel Taba Women’s Cooperative in the village of Zongo, located in the commune of Loumbila.
This initiative, launched in 2025, involved the construction of modern infrastructure to support women in their agricultural activities.
The market garden, now fenced and equipped with an efficient irrigation system, allows cooperative members to double their production.
The president of the cooperative, Mrs. Elise Ouédraogo, expressed the women’s gratitude towards President Ibrahim Traoré, emphasizing that his promises have been kept, transforming their daily lives and opening up new prospects for development.
During their meeting with the Head of State, the women of Zongo expressed their appreciation by offering him a portion of their harvest.
This gesture symbolizes not only their gratitude but also their commitment to contributing to the growth of Burkina Faso through hard work and collective effort.
This approach reflects the vision of President Ibrahim Traoré, which is to strengthen women’s empowerment through practical actions.
Thus, far from empty speeches, President Ibrahim Traoré demonstrates through his actions a genuine desire to improve the daily lives of women, especially those living in rural areas. Through tangible investments, he is helping them escape precariousness and establish themselves sustainably in a dynamic of economic and social development.
