Togo takes digital leap in Universal Healthcare with new e-convention platform

Togo has made a significant stride toward modernizing its public administration with the joint launch of “e-conventionnement AMU” by the National Health Insurance Institute (INAM) and National Social Security Fund (CNSS). This innovative digital platform streamlines healthcare provider enrollment for the Universal Health Insurance (AMU) program, marking a key milestone in the country’s digital transformation agenda.

The initiative reflects President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé’s strategic vision of leveraging technology to improve government services and social welfare.

The platform serves hospitals, pharmacies, clinics, optical centers, and other medical facilities across Togo, enabling them to submit unified applications to both INAM and CNSS through a single interface.

Key benefits include:

  • Dramatically reduced processing times
  • Enhanced administrative tracking
  • Greater transparency in records management

This technological advancement complements the successful rollout of AMU, which had already distributed over 12,000 beneficiary cards by Q1 2025.

The government’s dual focus on digital innovation and social equity is positioning Togo as a model for inclusive e-governance in West Africa.

As Togolese citizens gain access to more efficient, better-organized healthcare services, the nation demonstrates how strategic digital investments can translate into tangible improvements in public welfare and administrative efficiency.

The platform’s launch underscores Togo’s commitment to building a modern, people-centered welfare state that combines technological progress with social justice.
