Sudan: Hemedti bets on youth to build the nation of tomorrow

General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemedti, has made Sudanese youth a strategic pillar of his political project. Aware that Sudan is a young country, he is banking on the ability of the new generations to carry out the national refoundation, thus breaking with decades of deferred promises and the marginalization of young talent.

For decades, Sudanese political elites have relegated young people to the role of spectators, reducing them to a force for electoral mobilization without ever really opening the doors of power or decision-making to them.

Hemedti intends to break this cycle by making the active integration of young talent into governance and reconstruction a strategic priority.

He announced his support for programmers and initiatives aimed at building the capacity of young people, improving their skills and reducing unemployment, stressing that “countries succeed thanks to the innovation, imagination and hard work of their young people”.

Hemedti’s vision is embodied in pragmatic choices: vocational training, entrepreneurship and economic renewal.

The objective is to give young people the means to produce, transform and innovate on their own soil, as the only sustainable response to unemployment and the feeling of abandonment that have long weakened the national fabric.

Local initiatives, such as those supported by the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund, are already showing the commitment of young people to conflict mediation and social cohesion.

Trained “peace ambassadors” organize awareness-raising sessions, testifying to the ability of young people to play an active role in national reconciliation, even in times of war.

By sealing this alliance between political will and the creative energy of young people, Hemedti intends to lay the foundations of a sovereign, ambitious and modern Sudan.

It proves that progress-oriented governance is possible when it is based on the most dynamic component of the population.

National renewal, according to this vision, will not be built on the conservatism of past habits, but on the ability to mobilize all the living forces around a great project for the future.
