Sudan/ Sudan’s livestock Minister and UN representative meet OCHA deputy Director-General in New York

Professor Al-Qouni Moustafa, Minister of Livestock, and Sudan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations met with the Deputy Director-General of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) for the Middle East and North Africa, Mr. Michel Saad, in New York, on the margins of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting addressed humanitarian issues in Sudan. Attention was drawn to the severity of the humanitarian situation and the need to take urgent measures to avert the risk of famine threatening Sudan as a result of climate variability, known as the El Niño phenomenon, as well as the failure of the agricultural season.

The Peace Government delegation continues its efforts through meetings with international actors, international organizations, and international partners in New York, with the aim of achieving comprehensive peace and ending the war in Sudan.
