AES Nations unite in historic bid to Host AFCON 2032

Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger have officially submitted a joint bid to host the 2032 Africa Cup of Nations, marking a powerful display of unity within the Alliance of Sahel States.
The three nations confirmed their candidacy through a declaration of interest filed by their respective football federations. According to the statement, the CAF Executive Committee has accepted the submission, allowing the bid to proceed through the official host selection process.
CAF President Patrice Motsepe acknowledged the joint ambition during recent discussions.
He welcomed the initiative and praised the vision of regional cooperation behind the project. He encouraged the three countries to continue their efforts while respecting all CAF requirements and procedures.
This joint bid represents a significant milestone for the AES, demonstrating the alliance’s determination to collaborate across all sectors including sports.
For the Sahel region, hosting Africa’s premier football tournament would be a historic achievement, showcasing its capacity to organize major international events despite ongoing security and economic challenges.
The 38th edition of the AFCON is scheduled for 2032. The selection process will now move forward as the three nations work to meet CAF’s hosting requirements.
If successful, the bid would bring the tournament to West Africa’s Sahel region for the first time, uniting three nations in a shared celebration of African football.
