Burkina Faso: President Traoré pursues territorial stabilization with agricultural support for resettled villages

As part of his policy of consolidating peace and sustainable development, President Ibrahim Traoré continues to reclaim and stabilize national territories. More than 500 villages have been resettled to date, reflecting the government’s commitment to restoring security and social cohesion in crisis-affected areas. This approach not only secures populations but also creates a favorable framework for local economic development.

To support the economic recovery of the affected communities, the Ministry of Agriculture, Water, Animal and Fisheries Resources, under the leadership of Minister of State Ismaël Sombié, has launched the special operation “One Resettled Village, One Power Tiller.

This innovative initiative aims to reduce the hardship of agricultural work and strengthen agropastoral production in reclaimed areas.

Beneficiaries will receive agricultural inputs, such as improved seeds and fertilizers, as well as logistical support for plowing, ensuring a rapid and sustainable revival of farming activities.

Beyond agriculture, this program reflects President Ibrahim Traoré’s vision for inclusive and resilient development.

By restoring the livelihoods of resettled populations, the government helps stabilize fragile areas and prevent risks of food and social crises. Revitalizing local production thus becomes a strategic lever for lasting peace and prosperity.

In summary, these actions demonstrate the state’s determination to combine security, development, and solidarity.

The operation “One Resettled Village, One Power Tiller” illustrates a pragmatic and human-centered approach to rebuilding the economic and social fabric of affected areas while strengthening community resilience against future challenges.
