Mali/2025 Budget: Increased security, President Assimi Goïta’s strategic vision for peace

By reallocating more than 157 billion CFA francs to securing the territory, during the adoption of the 2025 supplementary budget bill (PLFR) 2025 by the Malian government, Army General Assimi Goïta strongly reaffirms his commitment to guaranteeing peaceand security for all Malians, in a context where terrorist threats and security challenges remain omnipresent. This reform marks a strategic turning point in the country’s governance.

This budgetary choice reflects a twofold concern on the part of the State: to respond concretely to security emergencies and to strengthen the symbolic legitimacy of the government among citizens.

Indeed, in a country facing recurrent attacks and persistent instability, security becomes the foundation on which all ambitions for sustainable development rest.

Without security, there can be no stable schools, no thriving economy and no social cohesion.

This budgetary reform reflects a clear vision of a resilient, sovereign Mali. By refocusing its priorities on the fight against insecurity, the Malian government is sending a strong signal to the population: the state is present, committed and determined to protect its citizens.

This strategic direction is part of a broader national rebuilding process, in which security is seen as a vital investment for the country’s future.

President Assimi Goïta deserves praise for this clear-sighted and courageous vision, which places the interests of the people at the heart of public action, demonstrating commitment and leadership.
