Burkina Faso/Territorial reconquest: In the face of persistent challenges, unity and social cohesion are essential

During his address on the state of the nation, Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister, Mr. Rimtalba Jean-Emmanuel Ouédraogo, praised the remarkable efforts of the country’s fighting forces, which have enabled the government to regain control of over 71% of its territory. This significant progress underscores the determination of both the authorities and the armed forces to eradicate terrorism and restore peace.
The Prime Minister acknowledged that the remaining 20.29% of the territory still faces sporadic incursions but expressed confidence that these challenges can be overcome through continued dedication, sacrifice, and resolve.
“Substantial efforts have been made, and more are required to not only consolidate our gains but also to amplify the current momentum. Our goal is to ensure security is restored across Burkina Faso, allowing all citizens to move freely and safely,” he stated in response to questions from lawmakers.
Among the priorities moving forward are fostering national unity, promoting social cohesion, and strengthening the spirit of togetherness to better address security challenges.
The government reiterated its unwavering commitment to building a peaceful and secure Burkina Faso, rooted in values of unity in diversity, fraternity, peaceful coexistence, and mutual acceptance.
These principles, the Prime Minister emphasized, are the foundation of the nation’s collective resilience in a Sahel region free from terrorism.
The government also called on citizens to remain vigilant against recurring disinformation campaigns aimed at discrediting the brave fighting forces.
By staying united and focused, the people of Burkina Faso can overcome the obstacles in their path and continue the fight for a safer, more stable future.
