LeBron James makes NBA history with 50,000 career points

LeBron James has cemented his legacy as one of basketball’s greatest ever players by becoming the first in NBA history to score 50,000 combined points across regular season and playoff games.
The 40-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star achieved the milestone during a 136-115 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, sinking a 25-foot three-pointer early in the first quarter.
James, already the league’s all-time leading scorer, finished the game with 34 points, bringing his career total to 60,149—6,000 more than second-placed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
His record-breaking tally includes 41,871 regular season points and 8,162 postseason points, both NBA highs.
“It’s a hell of a lot of points,” James said. “I’m super blessed to achieve this against the best players in the world.”
The milestone came in his 22nd season, tying Vince Carter for the most seasons played in NBA history.
Teammate Luka Doncic also shone, contributing 30 points and 15 assists to secure the Lakers’ seventh straight win, propelling them to second in the Western Conference.
Earlier on Tuesday, James was named Western Conference Player of the Month, becoming the oldest player to earn the honor.
Lakers legend Magic Johnson hailed James’ achievement on social media, calling him “the King” and celebrating his unparalleled impact on the game.
With this latest feat, James continues to redefine greatness in basketball.
