In Burkina Faso, the State empowers several women for peace and security

In Burkina Faso, a significant step has been taken towards promoting peace and gender equality with the training of 100 women from Gender cells of ministries and state institutions. Organized on Monday, April 8th by the Ministry responsible for Women through the General Directorate for the Promotion of Women and Gender, this initiative holds paramount importance in the context of the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda.

With the support of the United Nations Development Programme, this training session enabled participants to acquire crucial skills in conflict prevention, management, and peacebuilding. This initiative aims to strengthen the capacities of Gender cells to integrate the Women, Peace, and Security theme into their daily activities and to actively contribute to the construction of a more inclusive and peaceful society.

Participants had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences, share best practices, and develop strong networks. This participatory approach facilitated interactive and enriching learning, enabling women to play an active role in promoting peace and security in their country.

Under the enlightened leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso recognizes the crucial importance of female leadership in building a better future for all. By investing in the training and empowerment of women, the country demonstrates its determination to promote peace, gender equality, and sustainable development.
