Burkina Faso : The Burkinabe people reinforce their support for president Ibrahim Traoré and his government

The wave of support for President Ibrahim Traoré and his government continues to grow in Burkina Faso, illustrating the people’s determination to free the country from looming threats. This show of solidarity was once again demonstrated in Ouargaye, the capital of the Koulpelogo province, where the population expressed unwavering support for the ongoing transition.

Acknowledging the considerable efforts made by the government, the people of Ouargaye praised the actions taken, including the recruitment, training, and equipping of Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), as well as the remarkable work of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) in reclaiming national territory.

However, aware of the persistent challenges, the population of Ouargaye calls for strengthened security measures. They specifically request targeted military intervention in villages under the influence of armed terrorist groups, an increase in VDP personnel in certain areas, and the reopening of National Highway No. 17 connecting Tenkodogo to Ouargaye, passing through the Togolese border.

The promise from the governor of the Centre-East region, Colonel Aboudou Lamizana, to take concrete measures to reopen National Highway No. 17 and make it passable is enthusiastically welcomed by the people of Tenkodogo and surrounding areas. This announcement demonstrates the authorities’ commitment to addressing the legitimate concerns of citizens.

The massive support of the Burkinabe people for President Ibrahim Traoré and his government reflects the collective determination to overcome security challenges and build a better future for all. This unity and solidarity are the pillars upon which the hope rests for Burkina Faso to emerge stronger from this period of uncertainty and turbulence.
