PREMIER LEAGUE | IN A CRAZY MATCH, CHELSEA SNATCHES VICTORY AGAINST UNITED (4-3)

Chelsea, leading 2-0 after 19 minutes of play, then conceded three goals from Manchester United before regaining the lead in stoppage time (4-3) thanks to two goals from Cole Palmer, who scored a hat-trick this Thursday in the Premier League.

Caicedo brought the Red Devils back into the game by mishandling a pass in his own half towards Benoît Badiashile. It turned into an offering for Alejandro Garnacho, who didn’t ask for more (2-1, 34th minute).

The resurgence of Erik ten Hag’s men was confirmed when Bruno Fernandes headed in a good cross from Diogo Dalot, at the end of a fine team move (2-2, 39th minute). Manchester United regained momentum in just five short minutes; the tide turned, and it was with their heads down that Chelsea’s players went into halftime.

Psychological advantage still lay with Manchester at the start of the second half, especially as Onana kept his team afloat with some crucial saves (53rd, 59th minute). The first twist eventually arrived when Garnacho, once again, latched onto a sublime through ball from Antony with the outside of his foot (2-3, 67th minute).

It seemed unimaginable for Chelsea to bounce back. It would have been a somewhat bitter comeback to digest, especially considering that the Londoners had been much better for a good part of the first half.

But the Red Devils seemed to have forgotten that a match only ends when the final whistle blows. In stoppage time, they completely collapsed. Dalot, in particular, fouled Noni Madueke in his own box. The VAR confirmed the penalty, the second for Chelsea in this match, and once again it was converted by Palmer (3-3, 90th+10 minute).

One could have settled for this fairly logical draw. But the Blues pulled off one last trick: on a quickly taken corner, they caught their opponents off guard, allowing Palmer to send one final shot into the net, albeit deflected by Scott McTominay (4-3, 90th+11 minute). Absolutely crazy, and hats off to the performers.
