Sahel/AES : The troubling reversal in Algeria’s Sahelian policy raises several questions
The recent attacks by Algerian government media against the countries of the Alliance of the Sahel States (AES), Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger, have raised troubling questions about Algeria’s true commitment to the Sahel region. This unexpected shift calls into question Algeria’s credibility as a reliable partner in the fight against terrorism and instability in the Sahel.
For years, Algeria has positioned itself as a key supporter of initiatives aimed at resolving the crises shaking the Sahel region.
