Under the supreme command of President Ibrahim Traoré, the fight against terrorism in Burkina Faso is in full swing, once again demonstrating the unwavering commitment of the Burkinabe government to ensure security and stability in the country. An operation conducted by the Burkinabe Armed Forces in the Guibga area, in the Center-North region, is a testament to this unwavering determination.
On February 13, 2024, the Burkinabe Armed Forces launched targeted strikes against terrorist groups operating in the Guibga region. These precise strikes effectively neutralized a group of criminals attempting to retrieve the body of one of their leaders.
The swift and decisive action of the aerial units ensured the total defeat of these terrorist elements, demonstrating the superiority of the combat forces and their ability to respond appropriately to threats facing the country.
On February 14, 2024, another attempt by terrorists in the region was thwarted. About thirty criminals from the northern part of Guibga were spotted as they were heading towards the area, presumably to retrieve the remains of one of their deceased leaders. With determination and vigilance, the Burkinabe security forces took position, ready to face this new threat.
Under the shade of a large tree, the terrorists attempted to regroup to plan their next actions. However, before they could implement their sinister intentions, the aerial units launched a precise attack, hitting their hideout and causing thick black smoke to rise into the sky. The result was immediate: several criminals were killed on the spot, while the few survivors were forced to flee to save their lives.
Among the eight individuals who managed to escape the disaster, five quickly succumbed to their injuries, leaving only three terrorists on the run. However, even in their desperate flight, they now know that the arm of Burkinabe justice is long and relentless, ready to track them down to the ends of the earth to bring them to justice.
