Burkina Faso / President Ibrahim Traoré’s Combating Forces : An example of courage and determination in the fight against terrorism
In the ongoing battle against terrorism in Burkina Faso, the combating forces under the supreme command of President Ibrahim Traoré once again demonstrated their bravery and unwavering determination. On Monday, these forces carried out a decisive operation in the Ouargaye area, Koulpélogo province, neutralizing terrorists and recovering valuable combat equipment.
On February 5, 2024, terrorist groups launched a large-scale attack on a position held by the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) in Koogo, near Ouargaye. However, faced with the determination and indomitable courage of Burkinabe fighters, the criminals were forced to retreat, abandoning their sinister designs.
However, the terrorists’ escape was only temporary. The Air Forces, mobilized as reinforcements, quickly took over, tracking the long column of fugitives. At Welgiemsifou, three kilometers from Koogo, the pilots patiently waited for the arrival of the fleeing terrorists.
As soon as the terrorists were within their sights, a missile was deployed with precision, targeting the heart of the terrorist pack and inflicting heavy casualties on their ranks. The survivors, caught off guard, abandoned their motorcycles, futilely attempting to flee on foot in hopes of saving their lives.
However, their desperate flight was quickly halted by the arrival of the Combating Forces on the scene. With unwavering determination, these heroes successfully carried out their mission, putting an end to the criminal activities of the terrorists and ensuring the security of the local population.
This successful operation not only testifies to the courage and bravery of the Combating Forces under the supreme command of President Ibrahim Traoré, but also underscores their unwavering commitment to protecting the Burkinabe nation against the forces of evil.
