CAN 2023: Côte d’Ivoire has officially received the agreement of the organisation

The signing ceremony of the welcome agreement between the African Football Confederation (CAF) and the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) as well as the letter of confirmation between the FIF and the Organising Committee of the African Cup of Nations 2023, took place this Friday, November 11 as a prelude to the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations (CAN 2023) planned in Côte d’Ivoire

This significant step, which marks the start of the organisation of CAN 2023, is placed under the Presidency of the Head of State, Alassane Ouattara, with the effective presence of Prime Minister Patrick and the President of the CAF, Patrice Motsepe.

This important legal document is a contract between the CAF, holder of the competition rights and the host federation of the competition, in this instance the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF). It officially formalize the organisation of edition 34 of the CAN by Côte d’Ivoire.

The President of FIF, Mr. Yacine Idriss Diallo said he was honoured and proud to see the project of the organisation of the CAN 2023 successful. Whilst humbly paying homage to his prodeceivers, who had the clever ideas of applying for Côte d’Ivoire’s candidacy for the organisation of this CAN in 2022.
I think Côte d’Ivoire must be proud because with what I have seen, I think this country has the qualities to host the World Cup,” said the boss of African football.

CAF Secretary General Veron Mosengo-Omba announced the colours on the sidelines of the UFOA B General Assembly in Abidjan. “The CAF is ready. We welcome the state of progress of the infrastructure. And I assure you that this CAN will be the most beautiful CAN ever organised. Because we are in a football country, the football family is engaged as well as the CAF authorities. ”

To his part, Patrice Motsepe is a total satisfaction because of the encouraging evolution of the work on infrastructure as part of the organisation of this competition.
