Togo / Social Housing Construction Project in Golfe 7, Greater Lomé : Awareness and Preparations Underway

An ambitious project for the construction of social housing is about to commence in the Golfe 7 municipality, located in Greater Lomé. To ensure the success and harmony of this project, an awareness meeting took place on Tuesday, January 30, in the presence of the municipal executive and the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Urbanism, Edoh Komlan.

The primary objective of this session, chaired by Mr. Edoh Komlan, was to find a quick and peaceful solution to a potential problem that could hinder the launch of the project: the occupation of administrative reserves by individuals. This meeting aimed to inform and sensitize the occupants of administrative reserves about the consequences of their presence, ensuring a construction process without hitches.

The construction works, scheduled to kick off in March, will be distributed across two distinct sites : Yokoè-Kopégan with an area of 1.34 hectares and Sagbado-Avoèmé covering 2.64 hectares. These sites have been carefully chosen as part of a comprehensive program designed by the government, aligning with its ambition to promote decent living conditions.

This government program aims to build 20,000 decent social housing units, thus addressing the growing housing needs of the population. The construction of these social housing units will not only improve the living conditions of citizens but also alleviate challenges related to access to decent housing.

The social housing construction project in Golfe 7 represents a significant step toward achieving government housing goals. Awareness and collaboration with the community are key elements to overcome potential challenges and ensure the success of this large-scale project.
