Africa: On the initiative of President Faure Gnassingbé, Lomé hosts the 9th Pan-African Congress

Under the leadership of President Faure Gnassingbé, Lomé is set to host the  9th Pan-African Congress from October 22 to 25, 2024. Africans from the continent, the diaspora, and Afro-descendants are expected to gather in the Togolese capital for this significant event.

Against the backdrop of increasing globalization and the growing integration of African economic activities, the Congress aims to play a crucial role in determining both financial growth and human well-being on the continent.

In Lomé, the discussions will naturally revolve around leveraging technology, particularly in communications and transportation, to shape the destiny of the continent.

This ambitious initiative is spearheaded by President Faure Gnassingbé, who has directed his foreign affairs chief to organize the event.

The 9th Pan-African Congress in Lomé is poised to be a turning point in the long-awaited development of a new African dynamic.

The gathering will provide an opportunity to chart a roadmap for each region, identifying challenges and strategizing how to fully capitalize on global economic integration.

The congress will bring together Africans from the continent, the diaspora, and Afro-descendants to discuss the theme of the renewal of Pan-Africanism and Africa’s role in global governance.

In anticipation of the grand assembly in Lomé, several preparatory conferences will take place in each region of the continent.
