Burkina Faso/Patriotic Support Fund: Contributions from generous Burkinabe multiply

As part of the Patriotic Support Fund, the people of Burkina Faso are continuing to make financial contributions to support the transition in the fight against terrorism. Donors came forward again this weekend with financial gifts.

On Friday 29 September 2023, the Burkina Faso ministry in charge of the economy received more than 600 million CFA francs from three (03) Burkina Faso donors.

The donors were the consultation framework of general secretaries of ministries and institutions, which contributed 2,620,000 CFA francs; the Ministry of Energy and Mines, with a cheque for 502,166,226 CFA francs; and the Savane Media group, with a contribution of 101,000,000 CFA francs.

The arms manufacturers have also shown their financial support with 2,845,000 FCFA.

The donation was presented to the Minister for Territorial Administration, Emile Zerbo, on Friday 29 September 2023.

There are also associations and unions of car park managers. Their contributions were also presented to the ministry.

Let’s recall that the «Patriotic Support Fund» (FSP) is created by the transition on January 11th, 2023.

This fund was created, it should be remembered, to enable Burkinabe to take part in the fight to regain national territory.

The fund is allocated mainly to the management of Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP) and for the acquisition of essential and appropriate war material for a more effective fight against terrorists.
