Football/OM: Marcelino wants to change the system

After the first few games were not exactly convincing, Marcelino is thinking about changing his system. Naturally, there will be some happy and some unhappy moments. The first 4 games have gone by. Lessons have already been learned, especially now that the mercato is over. The personnel we have to work with will not change, at least until January. This is the case for all coaches, like Marcelino. The Spaniard is seeing things a little more clearly. Training during the two-week international break, as well as the matches some of his players have played for their national teams, have given him new food for thought.

Azzedine Ounahi (23), in particular, is not really at ease at the start of the season on the left side of a 4-4-2 formation that has gone awry. This system has been chosen for the start of the season, but it could well change very quickly, according to RMC. The coach and his staff are considering changes for the next few matches, which promise to be tough, with Toulouse, Ajax, Monaco, PSG and Brighton all on the line. The Moroccan is at the forefront of these tactical changes.

The system of Marcelino often left the two central midfielders struggling and outnumbered at the heart of the game. The players felt it. This has not escaped the attention of the staff, and a few adjustments are therefore possible. The recent injury to Ismaïla Sarr, who is expected to be out of action for around two weeks, will also force OM to adapt.
