Niger: President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Draws ECOWAS’s Attention to the Consequences of Military Intervention

According to the unfolding scenario of ECOWAS in Niger, military intervention seems to be the primary option. Several international leaders and institutions do not view ECOWAS’s military intervention in Niger favorably. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has commented on the matter. According to the Turkish leader, a military intervention in Niger will lead to instability in several African countries.

«I do not find the decision of ECOWAS to militarily intervene in Niger fair», he noted. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared that his country will invest efforts to find a solution to the situation in Niger.

He expressed it as follows: «We are currently working on how we can play our key role here with our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and we will continue to do so, and we hope to find a solution in Niger».

For the Turkish leader, Niger is a fraternal and friendly country, and he hopes that he hopes that constitutional order will be restored as soon as possible.

«I hope that social peace and stability will be restored in Niger as soon as possible and that the Nigerien people will protect democracy and organize elections as soon as possible».

Let’s recall the Western intervention in Libya (2011). Terrorism is already claiming victims among widows, orphans, displaced people, the hungry, the maimed…

Does ECOWAS want to worsen the situation? The future of history will tell us. For now, the Nigerien population stands united and supports the new authorities.
