Burkina Faso: Support Fund for Peace: The Burkinabe Diaspora follows suit

The Minister of African Integration and Burkinabe living abroad, S.E. Madame Olivia Rouamba, presided over the donations hand-over official ceremony of the Burkinabe diaspora.  These donations serve as peace effort in Burkina Faso.

A total of 42,750,000 CFA francs, in addition to goods in kind, were donated by the diaspora, showing strong commitment.

The donors expressed their gratitude and support for the efforts of the Transitional Government.

They stated that they made this gesture to support the government’s efforts and to show their attachment to their homeland, as they believe «we have only one homeland» and when it is threatened, all sons and daughters must mobilize to save it.

They assured that further contributions would be made in response to the government’s call.

Welcoming this donation with great enthusiasm, Minister Olivia Rouamba expressed the gratitude of the Government and the Burkinabe people to the diaspora, who, through this act, demonstrated their commitment and willingness to support the authorities in the face of current challenges.

She stated, «It is together that we can overcome the difficulties our country is facing, and we call on Burkinabe from all walks of life, wherever they are, to bring their support and contribution to make the current difficulties a thing of the past.»

This diaspora includes Burkinabe workers from ECOWAS, Burkinabe living in Bangui, Central African Republic, San Pedro, Côte d’Ivoire, Greece, North Carolina, and Nebraska in the United States.
