Burkina Faso’s armed forces maintain pressure on terrorist groups in the Sahel; 22 terrorists killed and their weapons recovered in Feto Koba.

A statement from the Burkinabe army reports a military operation conducted by a reconnaissance patrol from the Djibo military detachment in the locality of Feto Koba, northeast of the city of Djibo.

The terrorists present in the area were taken by surprise by the firepower of the combat units and attempted to flee without success. In total, twenty-two terrorists were killed, and their weapons were recovered.

Additionally, the armed forces seized significant quantities of ammunition, detonators, explosives, a dozen motorcycles, and communication equipment. The Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces commends this victorious action by his troops, which deals a heavy blow to the terrorist groups operating in the Sahel region. He encourages them to maintain the pressure to allow for a swift return to normalcy in the areas affected by terrorism.

A reconnaissance patrol from the Djibo military detachment conducted an opportunistic operation targeting a group of terrorists in the locality of Feto Koba on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

Surprised by the firepower of the combat units, the terrorists attempted to flee but were unsuccessful. As a result, twenty-two (22) terrorists were killed, and their weapons were recovered.

Significant quantities of ammunition, as well as detonators and explosives, were seized. A dozen motorcycles and communication equipment were also confiscated.
