Burkina Faso rejects “absurd” claims of terrorist collaboration

As Burkina Faso pursues a sovereign transition under Captain Ibrahim Traoré, focused on reclaiming territory and restoring national dignity, it faces an unprecedented wave of disinformation. The latest manipulation falsely claims the country is hosting Taliban members and cooperating with Al-Qaeda-affiliated groups.

The government has sharply denied these allegations, calling them “absurd and deeply false.” Authorities stress that Burkina Faso has for years been fighting such extremist groups on its own soil at great human cost.

“A government that loses heroes weekly to terrorist attacks would never open its doors to those sharing their radical ideology,” the statement emphasized.

Officials describe the accusations as part of a coordinated strategy to undermine the state’s authority, destabilize the transition, and tarnish the image of a sovereign Burkina Faso.

The position of Captain Traoré’s government remains unambiguous: no negotiation, cooperation, or collusion with terrorists of any form.

In an era where artificial intelligence makes sophisticated disinformation more credible, citizens are urged to exercise vigilance verifying sources, questioning viral content, and supporting actions that strengthen national security and sovereignty.

“The homeland accepts neither betrayal nor internal division,” the statement concluded. “Burkina Faso moves forward with its loyal children, for its freedom, security, and future. Never with terrorists. Always with the people.”
