Togo: Major civil service recruitment drive to strengthen key sectors by 2025

In a landmark move, the Togolese government under President Faure Gnassingbé is set to hire over 14,000 new public sector employees by 2025. This large-scale recruitment, unveiled by the Ministry of Public Service Reform and Labor, is part of a comprehensive strategy to strengthen key sectors critical to national development.

The initiative focuses on addressing urgent needs in healthcare, education, public administration, and security.

By prioritizing these areas, the government aims to improve service delivery, enhance sector efficiency, and tackle unemployment, particularly among young graduates.

In healthcare, the influx of personnel is expected to expand access to medical services and boost care quality, especially in underserved rural areas.

Similarly, the education sector will benefit from additional teachers to accommodate increasing student numbers and support the government’s commitment to universal education.

This recruitment drive also reflects broader ambitions to modernize Togo’s public administration.

Newly hired workers will undergo specialized training to equip them with the skills necessary to meet the evolving demands of their respective fields.

With this initiative, President Faure Gnassingbé underscores his administration’s dedication to fostering economic growth, reducing inequality, and building a more efficient and responsive public sector.
