Togo: President Faure Gnassingbé refuses to bow to Western pressures to destabilize the AES

Faure Gnassingbé has not been a mere pawn in the destabilization strategies orchestrated by foreign powers like France through the European Union.
Refusal to Make Togo a Rear Base
During joint military maneuvers with the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) countries, Togo was reportedly solicited by France to serve as a rear base, a role that Faure Gnassingbé firmly rejected. This refusal demonstrates his commitment to preserving the sovereignty and integrity of his country while supporting his African neighbors in their fight for regional stability and security.

In response to these refusals, France, through the European Union, decided to suspend its military training aid to Togo.
