Congo Brazzaville: Denis Sassou N’Guesso in Russia to strengthen bilateral relations
The President of the Republic of Congo, Denis Sassou N’Guesso, is making a state visit to Russia at the invitation of his counterpart, Vladimir Putin. This visit holds particular significance this year, marking the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

President Denis Sassou N’Guesso’s visit follows shortly after that of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to Congo on June 3 and 4. Lavrov was received in Oyo by the Congolese head of state, underscoring the importance of the relations between the two countries and setting the stage for the current meeting in Moscow.
The celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Congo and the Russian Federation is a key moment for both nations.
