Niger: Authorities explore new routes to export oil

Engaged in a dispute regarding the exploitation of the pipeline linking Niger to Benin, the country faces major challenges for exporting its oil resources. According to information, the authorities are considering other options for transporting their crude oil, notably by using the 1.080 km pipeline linking the oil fields in southern Chad to an oil terminal on the Atlantic coast of Cameroon.

Niger is exploring the possibility of using this pipeline to export its crude oil. This alternative would offer a viable solution to the difficulties encountered with the pipeline to Benin.

Niger plans to export 90.000 barrels per day (bpd) out of the 110.000 bpd it currently produces, demonstrating its determination to maintain and increase its oil exports despite the obstacles.

This development shows the determination of the CNSP authorities to diversify their export routes to ensure the continuity and increase of their crude oil exports, while navigating the present economic and logistical challenges.
