DRC: Judith Suminwa Tuluka’s government expected at the National Assembly before June 15th

The suspense ends with the exit of the government of the Sacred Union of the Nation led by Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka, which the Democratic Republic of Congo has experienced since her appointment on April 1st. The next step for the Judith Suminwa Tuluka government is the inauguration of her government after the approval of her action plan by the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly is already prepared for this exercise. During the plenary session held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, the President of the lower house of parliament, Vital Kamerhe, detailed the schedule of activities for the March session, which will end on June 15th, and on this schedule is the inauguration of the new government of the Republic.

« In accordance with the provisions of Article 115 of the constitution, we have entered fully into the first ordinary session of the year 2024, which will end on June 15th. For the time remaining before the closure of this session, your office has prepared a calendar of activities which includes the following matters: 1. Establishment of parliamentary groups of standing committees and the council of elders, 2. Examination and adoption of the budget project of the National Assembly for the year 2025, 3. Examination and approval of the government’s program followed by its inauguration and finally 4. Examination of the requisition of the Attorney General at the Court of Cassation for instructions », revealed Vital Kamerhe during his communication.

Now, the countdown begins for Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka and her entire team. Considering the current situation in the country and the delay in the publication of the government, Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka must take this deadline into account to accelerate things and present her program to the national representation for approval before officially starting work.
