Spain defeats France 5-3 in Epic Olympic Football Final to claim Gold

In a thrilling Olympic football final on Friday night in Paris, Spain emerged victorious over France with a 5-3 win, securing the gold medal.

 

The match was a high-paced and intense battle, with both teams displaying remarkable skill and resilience.

 

France initially took the lead early in the match when Enzo Millot capitalized on a mistake by Spanish goalkeeper Arnau Tenas, scoring in the 11th minute.

 

However, Spain quickly responded with an equalizer from Fermin Lopez, who later added a second goal to give Spain the advantage.

 

 

Alejandro Baena extended Spain’s lead to 3-1 with a stunning free-kick before halftime.

 

In the second half, France dominated and managed to level the score through goals from Maghnes Akliouche and Jean-Philippe Mateta, the latter scoring a dramatic penalty in stoppage time.

 

The match continued into extra time, where Spain regained control.

 

Sergio Camello scored twice, including a decisive goal in the 121st minute, sealing Spain’s 5-3 victory and their Olympic triumph, just weeks after winning Euro 2024.
