Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim Traoré calls on ADDI members to be ambassadors for consciousness-raising in Africa

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of the Burkinabe Revolution and Head of State, received a delegation from the African Institute for the Development of the Diaspora (ADDI) in audience on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. During this meeting, the Head of State entrusted this association with a crucial mission: to awaken consciousness for the emancipation of Burkina Faso and Africa as a whole.

In the exchanges, Captain Ibrahim Traoré shared his vision for the future of his country and the African continent with the members of ADDI, an association dedicated to the development of peoples and the unity of Africa. He emphasized the importance of their presence in Burkina Faso, a country often misunderstood, and encouraged them to become ambassadors of its cultural richness and potential in the eyes of the world.

The Head of State also called on ADDI to actively work for African unity, stressing that the emancipation of Africa requires collective awareness and the union of the continent’s peoples. He expressed pride in seeing the diaspora united within this association and invited its members to be spokespersons for consciousness-raising in Africa. In a passionate appeal, Captain Ibrahim Traoré encouraged the diaspora to invest in Burkina Faso, highlighting the numerous opportunities and vast potential offered by the country.

The president of ADDI, Ambassador Dr. Arikana Chihombori Quao, welcomed this meeting with the Transitional President, stating that it demonstrated that it was possible to break free from oppression. She expressed her association’s full support for the Transition and the Burkinabé people, affirming that more than 300 million people from the African diaspora were proud to support Burkina Faso in its quest for emancipation and progress.

It is worth noting that ADDI, based in the United States, brings together members from different regions of the world, including America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. A strong delegation from this association recently participated in the 21st edition of the National Culture Week in Bobo-Dioulasso, demonstrating its commitment to Burkina Faso and African unity.
