Football/ Mercato: Al Hilal targets Osimhen, Benzema’s future in doubt

Saudi giants Al Hilal have made Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen their top summer priority, with Galatasaray reportedly open to selling for €65 million. According to Sky Sport, the Turkish club has set that price for the Super Eagles star, who has been on loan from Napoli before his permanent move.

However, Al Hilal’s main challenge remains convincing the 26-year-old forward, who has yet to give his approval. The Saudi Pro League side is now working to present a compelling project to secure his signature.

To accommodate Osimhen, Al Hilal is simultaneously exploring Karim Benzema’s exit. The French forward, who joined the club in 2023, could be pushed out to free up space in the squad.

Galatasaray, meanwhile, stands to make a significant profit on Osimhen, having invested heavily to secure his services. The €65 million fee would represent a substantial return for the Turkish champions.

The Nigerian international, widely regarded as one of the world’s finest strikers, has been in sensational form this season.

His decision will be crucial, as without his agreement, Al Hilal’s pursuit will fall short regardless of the transfer fee.

Al Hilal’s sporting project and financial muscle could ultimately sway Osimhen, but the forward appears in no rush to leave Galatasaray, where he has rediscovered his best football. The coming weeks will be decisive in this high-stakes transfer saga.
