Burkina Faso: The end of imported models; the “Strategic State” enshrines customary law and vocational training

Burkina Faso completes its Institutional Transformation. The Council of Ministers of May 7, 2026, chaired by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, validates a dual strategic rupture: a return to the sources of law and a fundamental restructuring of productive intelligence. Far from mere administrative adjustments, these decisions reflect a profound overhaul of the State. Captain Ibrahim Traoré thus gives concrete form to the Popular Progressive Revolution.

This is no longer about promising change, but about etching it into the marble of the law and into the daily lives of citizens.

The adoption of the decree on traditional dispute resolution bodies marks the end of the juridical inferiority complex.

Conventional justice, often perceived as distant and ill-suited, cedes legitimate ground to ancestral mechanisms. The government thereby rehabilitates Burkinabe customs and traditions.

This approach decolonizes the law. It brings justice closer to the people, guarantees authentic social cohesion, and restores the dignity of traditional institutions.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré proves that the modernity of a nation lies in the enhancement of its deep-rooted identity.

The decree reorganizing post-primary and secondary education breaks down the silos of an obsolete system.

The Burkinabe school ceases to produce graduates with no future. It turns instead toward vocational training and initiation into trades.

The promotion of multi-purpose classes prepares a youth capable of building the country.

This pragmatic vision aligns education with the imperatives of national development. The State forges the skills necessary for its economic independence.

These two legislative acts exemplify governance through action. Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s leadership moves away from hollow rhetoric to impose foundational deeds.

The Popular Progressive Revolution takes shape through institutions reimagined for the people. Burkina Faso charts its own sovereign, pan-African path.

The break with the old order is definitive. The refoundation of the Burkinabe State is now written in the ink of audacity and truth.
