Burkina Faso: Terrorist assault on Pama fails miserably, Population celebrates victory
It was around 5 o’clock in the morning on Thursday, March 5, 2026, when the horizon of Pama seemed to darken. A horde of terrorists, arriving in large numbers, deployed on the outskirts of the town, determined to breach the defensive lines. The objective of this incursion was clear: to sow death and desolation in the heart of the city. But what the attackers had not anticipated was that they would run into a wall of determination and unwavering vigilance.
Faced with the imminent threat, the reaction of the Fighting Forces was lightning-fast. The men of the Detachment, immediately supported by their brothers-in-arms from the 25th Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), promptly took the initiative.
Far from merely withstanding the assault, they set off in pursuit of the enemy, transforming an attempted attack into a genuine hunting operation.
Taken aback by this swiftness and patriotic aggressiveness, the terrorists, whose initial plan had been shattered, had no choice but to retreat, preferring a hasty escape to a frontal battle they had already lost. However, the chase did not stop there.
To complete this tactical success, aerial assets were deployed on instructions from the command, taking over above the battlefield to harass the fleeing fighters and prevent any regrouping.
Fortunately, the human toll among the patriots stands at zero, while the recovered equipment bears witness to the scale of the victory.
An impressive arsenal of war, carefully prepared by the enemy for their misdeed, was seized.
All-terrain motorcycles, rifles, submachine guns, and lots of ammunition now lie in the depots of the Defense and Security Forces, symbols of a stinging failure for the obscurantist forces.
This resounding victory, the fruit of courage and perfect coordination among the various components of the Fighting Forces, had an immediate resonance within the population of Pama.
As soon as news of the rout of the enemy’s rout spread, residents spontaneously poured out in masse. In a burst of popular and patriotic jubilation, they converged on the main thoroughfares to express their gratitude and celebrate their heroes.
These scenes of fervor, mixing songs, ululations, and slogans of support, are the finest tribute paid to the sacrifice and daily commitment of the Defense and Security Forces and the VDP.
They serve as a reminder, if any were needed, that behind every military victory lies an entire people who refuse to bend and who unwaveringly support those who, at the risk of their lives, defend their freedom and territorial integrity.
The battle of Pama is a new milestone in the struggle to reclaim peace, proving once again that determination and vigilance remain the best weapons against terrorism.
