DRC: Prime Minister Judith Suminwa calls for stability and innovation at TICAD 9

The Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Her Excellency Judith Suminwa Tuluka, is taking part in the ninth edition of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), which is being held in Yokohama, Japan. This major global event brings together African leaders, heads of multilateral institutions and international investors to discuss the issue of sustainable development on the continent.

The Congolese Head of Government spoke at the plenary session on peace and security.

In her address, she praised Japan’s ongoing commitment to the development of the African continent and the driving role played by TICAD in strengthening Afro-Japanese cooperation.

Referring to the priorities of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Judith Suminwa highlighted the inseparable link between stability and prosperity.

She stressed that lasting peace is the primary condition for any economic and social progress, and that no development project can thrive in a context marked by instability.

The Congolese Prime Minister also broadened her remarks to include the need for profound structural transformations for the future of Africa.
