Burkina Faso: Prime Minister reviews mid-year progress on territorial administration Minister’s performance contract

Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo conducted a mid-term evaluation of the 2025 performance contract for Émile Zerbo, Minister of State for Territorial Administration and Mobility, revealing a 52.35% implementation rate as of June 30.

The contract focuses on 11 priority areas, including civil protection, civil registration, local governance, and mobility. Key achievements include :

  • 65,000 birth certificatesissued to internally displaced persons, securing their legal identity and civic rights.
  • 125,000 transport permitsprocessed (86% of the annual 145,000 target), enhancing population mobility and safety.
  • Emergency response plans (ORSEC)developed for high-risk provinces like Comoé and Ganzourgou to strengthen crisis preparedness.

The progress reflects the ministry’s commitment to administrative efficiency and citizen welfare. With six months remaining, the government aims to accelerate deliverables to meet year-end targets.
