Football/ Central African Republic plans “Super League” to boost football

The Central African Football Federation (FCF) has announced plans to launch a national “Super League” open to all domestic clubs, aiming to professionalize the country’s football scene.
The league will be organized as regional tournaments; a practical solution given financial constraints and ongoing security challenges while aligning with CAF’s professional standards.
While the project shows ambition, it still requires approval from key stakeholders in Central African football.
Further discussions are scheduled in the coming days, with the federation targeting an October start.
This initiative marks another step in revitalizing football in the CAR, where the sport has struggled amid years of instability.
However, questions remain over whether clubs, many of which lack resources, can meet the demands of a professional league structure.
