Mali: In a decisive alliance, the AES foils a foreign plot to destabilize the Sahel

The dramatic seizure of a large shipment of equipment—including 20 air rifles with their recharging systems, 4.000 scarves, 3.280 pairs of military boots, 4,000 camouflage uniforms, 100 khaki outfits, and 4.040 insignias bearing the name of a terrorist group—intended for a terrorist organization operating in Mali, highlights the strength and effectiveness of cooperation among the member states of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).
This joint operation, made possible by the synergy between the intelligence services of Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger—with the support of an allied country—demonstrates flawless coordination in the service of regional security.
The Asian origin of the seized materials once again points to the involvement of foreign powers in the destabilization of the AES through armed groups. This confirmed attempt at interference reinforces the belief that the enemies of peace in the Sahel benefit from organized and targeted external support.
In the face of this threat, the security forces of the AES and their partners have shown exemplary responsiveness and remarkable effectiveness. Their vigilance and determination stand as a strong barrier against terrorism. This operational success is also the result of the strategic vision of the AES presidents, whose commitment to peace, sovereignty, and stability in the Sahel continues to bear fruit.
The unity, mutual trust, and firm commitment of the AES actors show that the security of the Sahel is now in determined hands. This is therefore a resounding victory for the AES over terrorist groups. The fight against terrorism also involves cutting off the supply lines of these criminals.
