Burkina Faso’s President Traoré Champions child nutrition with landmark initiative

From March 10 to 12, 2025, Koudougou hosted a pivotal seminar under President Ibrahim Traoré’s flagship initiative to provide every school-aged child with at least one balanced meal per day. Organized by the Permanent Secretariat of the Presidential Initiative, the event brought together key stakeholders to assess the progress of the Integrated School Feeding and Nutrition Support Program (PISANS) 2023-2025.
Supported by four United Nations agencies—FAO, IFAD, WFP, and UNICEF—PISANS aligns with Burkina Faso’s national school feeding policy.
Beyond ensuring children receive nutritious meals, the program boosts local agriculture and empowers communities, creating a ripple effect of economic and social benefits.
President Traoré’s unwavering commitment to improving the lives of Burkinabe citizens is evident in this initiative.
By regularly convening such seminars, the government demonstrates its dedication to refining public policies for lasting impact.
This proactive approach to governance, rooted in tangible actions and steadfast leadership, reflects a broader vision of resilience and prosperity for Burkina Faso.
Through programs like PISANS, Traoré is not only addressing immediate needs but also laying the foundation for a brighter future, where education and health are prioritized as pillars of national development.
