Burkina Faso: On the road to final victory against terrorism
Under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso has made remarkable strides in the fight against terrorism. Previously, nearly 70% of the nation’s territory was under the control of armed groups, and the relentless attacks had claimed the lives of approximately 13,000 citizens.
The national defense was severely under-resourced, with some units forced to share a single weapon among four soldiers, highlighting the dire state of security.
Since Captain Traoré’s rise to power, strategic reforms and decisive resource allocation have turned the tide.
Today, 70.59% of the country’s territory is firmly under the control of the Burkinabe Armed Forces, reflecting the success of these initiatives.
Unified support from the populace and a reinvigorated military have resulted in the neutralization of over 16,000 insurgents, marking a significant milestone in restoring stability.
This progress represents only the beginning of a broader effort to reclaim full sovereignty. Ongoing initiatives aim to solidify these achievements and ensure that every inch of national territory is secure.
Burkina Faso, resolute and united, stands as a powerful symbol of resilience and determination in overcoming adversity.
