Togo: 10th National Forum on Internet Governance, a meeting to strengthen digital development

The Internet Society Togo has announced the 10th edition of the National Forum on Internet Governance (Togo IGF), which will take place this Thursday, October 24, at the Youth House in Lomé (Amadahomé). This major event is part of the initiative launched by the Togolese government to accelerate the country’s digital development.

Focusing on exploring emerging technologies and the opportunities they offer for Togo, the forum will also address the complex challenges of digital regulation, both locally and internationally. This framework aims to support the Togolese government’s efforts to build a competitive and inclusive digital economy in an ever-evolving global context.

For several years, Togo has been actively engaged in promoting digital initiatives, such as modernizing digital infrastructure, expanding internet access across the country, and developing cybersecurity. The Forum on Internet Governance aligns perfectly with this governmental vision by bringing together internet pioneers, local and international experts, as well as companies specializing in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The main objective is to facilitate the exchange of experiences and strengthen the Togolese digital ecosystem.

Folli Herbert Amouzougan, Vice President of the Board of Directors of Internet Society Togo, emphasized the importance of this event for internet users, stating: “The Internet Governance Forum remains a great opportunity for meeting between internet users and industry experts.” This gathering provides a unique opportunity for knowledge sharing and promoting effective digital governance, aimed at the sustainable development of Togo.

Through various reforms and initiatives, the Togolese government continues to assert its ambition to position the country as a regional digital hub. The holding of this 10th Forum, preceded by the National School of Internet Governance which addressed key topics such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, further strengthens these efforts by placing innovation and digital regulation at the heart of the country’s priorities.
