Burkina Faso : The end of CAIMA marks the beginning of enhanced state responsibility for food security

Endowed with a fervent passion for rural development and food security, Captain Ibrahim Traoré has dedicated his life to improving the living conditions of Burkinabe farmers. His innovative vision and inspiring leadership have played a key role in the transformation of the agricultural sector.

As a staunch advocate for sustainable farming practices and technological innovation, Captain Traoré has worked tirelessly to modernize production methods while preserving the country’s precious natural resources.

Faced with challenges encountered by the Central Supply of Agricultural Inputs and Equipment (CAIMA), the government made the decision, during a weekly meeting under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, to dissolve this structure. In its place, a new state-owned company, the Burkinabe Society of Inputs and Agropastoral Equipment, will be created.

This initiative aims to enable the state to better control subsidies and ensure strategic supply of agricultural inputs, primarily through public financing.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s efforts have focused on empowering farmers through training programs and access to quality agricultural inputs. His unwavering commitment has strengthened the livelihoods of many rural communities and improved their food security.
